2 metre Repeater

Our 2 metre repeater became operational at a new site at Vincentia on  11 November 2023.  Reports indicate that we now have good coverage up and down the coast as well as the local area.  Coverage in Nowra is somewhat reduced compared to the Nowra Hill site

We would please to receive signal reports either on air or via email to the Club at mscarcinc@gmail.com

2metre Repeater

The Club’s Yaesu DR-2X repeater has been taken out of service following a failure in the transmitter section. The repeater is on its way to Melbourne for repair

We are still on the air with the usual frequencies on 2 metres with our backup repeater, but on FM only.

Upcoming Picnic With IARS POSTPONED

EDIT: The new event is here.

Our upcoming picnic/field day with IARS that was planned to take place on the 28th of March, 2020, has been postponed.

This action has been taken out of concern for our members, especially those of advanced age in the current health crisis due to COVID-19.

Members will be advised by email regarding a new picnic date.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Tri Club Picnic 21 April 2018

The second Tri Club Picnic was held on 21 April 2018 with members from the Illawarra Amateur Radio Society, the Goulburn and Southern Highlands Radio Society and the Mid South Coast Amateur Club attending.  Although it was not a fine sunny day the weather was tolerable.  About thirty people from the three clubs attended.

There was a variety of gear on display.  The multi mode repeater from IARS was setup and functioning.  John VK2JG had a working 23cm television system running. There were also a number of HF rigs set up and operating.

Orlando, VK2ZOB from our Club attended his first picnic. His constant companion the video camera was put to good use.  Looking forward to seeing the video of the event

There was even a strange flying object moving around the carpark

The next edition of the Lyrebird will have more information and pictures
